Handbuilding with clay is an 8 session course designed to give participants a chance to explore handbuilding techniques through pinching, coiling, and working with slabs. Students will deepen their knowledge about clay properties and character through hands-on demonstrations by an instructor and suggested and self-guided projects. Students will focus on making fuctional pottery such as mugs, bowls, planters and vases and also tackling more advanced creations such as pitchers and butter dishes.
The class comes with a bag of clay, access to a slab roller, banding wheels, and some specialized tools. Additional clay can be purchased at the studio. Students have access to the studio during Open Studio hours for self-guided practice time.
Students will need to bring their own tools, apron and a hand towel.
This class is a hybrid of both beginners and more advanced students.
Open to people 18 years old and up.

Y5 plastic rib from Mud Tools or similar

Refund and cancellation policy:
6 and 8 week classes require a 10 day notice before class begins for a full refund. No refunds will be given after class begins.For classes with a waitlist, we will refund you up to 24 hours before class if we can fill your spot, but this is not guaranteed.
In this case there will be a 15% cancellation fee to cover our time.
