REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICIES
One-Time Classes
If you can’t attend, you may transfer your registration to another class with at least three days’ notice. Registrations may be transferred only once and are nonrefundable.
You may also give your registration to someone else—just let us know who will be attending. No refunds or transfers are available for no-shows or cancellations made less than three days before class.
6- and 8-Week Classes
Cancel at least 10 days before the first class to receive a refund, minus a $25 processing fee.
If the class has a waitlist, we may also issue a refund for a later cancellation if we can fill your spot. This option is available until 24 hours before the first class and is subject to the $25 processing fee.
Workshops
Cancel at least 10 days before the workshop to receive a refund, minus a $25 processing fee.

Private Classes
Payment for your class includes a $50 non-refundable deposit. Private classes may be refunded up to 24 hours before class begins, minus the deposit. There are no refunds for no-shows or late cancellations made less than 24 hours before your class..
Private Events: Team Building and Parties
Cancel at least 3 days before your event to receive a refund of payments made, minus the nonrefundable $150 deposit used to reserve your date. Cancellations made less than 3 days before the event are nonrefundable.

How do I sign up for a class?

Can I schedule a private class for a group?
Absolutely! Visit our Private Events page to plan a clay experience for up to 10 people. Have a bigger crew? Contact us and we’ll see what we can work out.
Can I come in and make something on my own?
We love enthusiasm, but we’re not a public drop-in studio. To work independently, you’ll need to be enrolled in a 6- or 8-week class or be a current member.
Can beginners take classes?
Please do—we love beginners! Unless the listing says otherwise, no experience is needed. We’ll show you what to do, and wonky first pots are warmly welcomed.
How much do classes cost?
Prices vary depending on the class. Visit our 6- and 8-Week Classes, One-Time Classes, or Calendar pages and click on anything that catches your eye for complete details.
What materials are included?
One-time classes include everything you need: clay, tools, glazing, and firing. Just bring yourself and a willingness to get a little muddy.
Students in 6- and 8-week classes receive a clay and firing allotment but bring their own basic pottery tools. Additional clay and firing space may be purchased. Visit our Course Information page for all the details.
When will my pottery be ready after I've taken a one-time class?
Pottery goes through two firings and takes its sweet time. Most one-time class projects are ready in about one month, and we’ll notify you by email and text when yours is finished.
What happens if I don’t pick up my pottery?
Our pottery shelves are sadly not infinite. Please collect finished work within 10 days of your pickup notification. Pieces left beyond the pickup window may be donated or discarded.
Can I make up a class that I miss?
We don’t offer make-up classes for missed course meetings. Students enrolled in 6- and 8-week classes can use open studio hours to practice, catch up, or lovingly wrestle an unfinished project into submission.
What if I can’t attend a class I registered for?
Life happens! Your options depend on the type of class and how much notice you give us. Please see our Refund & Cancellation Policies above for the complete scoop.
What ages can take classes?
Our 6- and 8-week courses are for adults ages 18 and older. Most one-time classes welcome ages 14 and older, and some allow younger makers when they enroll alongside a participating adult. Check the individual class listing for age requirements.
Who can use open studio hours?
Open studio hours are for students currently enrolled in our 6- and 8-week classes and members with studio access. They aren’t open to the general public.
Do you offer memberships?
We do! Membership is designed for experienced potters who can work independently and want a creative studio community. Visit our Membership page to learn more and apply.
Can you fire pottery I made at home or at another studio?
We don’t offer outside firing services. Firing is available only for work made at Vallejo Clay by current students and members.
What should I wear to class?
Wear comfortable clothes that can get messy and closed-toe shoes. Clay usually washes out, but this is not the day for your treasured outfit. Tie back long hair, remove rings and bracelets and you'll be ready to go!
Do I need to bring anything?
For one-time classes, just bring yourself—we provide everything else. Students in 6- and 8-week classes need their own basic pottery tools; we’ll send the details before the session begins.
Can I bring my own clay?
Students and one-time class participants must use clay purchased or provided by Vallejo Clay. Members may use their own approved Cone 5 clay. This isn’t us being fussy: the wrong clay can melt into a very expensive puddle.
Can I bring food or drinks?
Food and drinks need to stay out of clay-working areas except for during special events. Private groups may arrange food time in advance.
Is the studio accessible?
Our main studio is wheelchair accessible, and we have an ADA compliant. bathroom. If you have specific access needs or would like help choosing the right class, please contact us before registering. We’re happy to help.
Can I bring a friend or child who isn’t enrolled?
Only registered participants may attend classes or use the studio. Visitors, children, and other guests can’t hang out in the working studio unless the event specifically welcomes them.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes—give the gift of pottery makig! Gift cards can be used toward eligible Vallejo Clay classes and experiences. Visit our Gift Cards page to purchase one.
