In this two-day workshop students will explore using sewing pattern techniques to handbuild functional ceramics. You will learn how to make basic paper patterns and use them to create darts, seams, “stitches” with a pattern marker, gussets ... the possibilities are endless for using simple sewing techniques to expand your hand building vocabulary.
The class will start by creating templates to make a variety of functional pieces, beginning with a cup while also exploring bowls and vases. Pieces will dry overnight on Saturday.
