Mugapalooza is a one-day celebration of our favorite handmade object: THE MUG!
We want to share our love of the mug with the community, join us at the studio for:
- Mug raffle: Raffle tickets are $5 each, all proceeds from ticket sales go toward supporting our summer Kids Clay Camp scholarship fund.
- Mug workshop: Create your own mug in our hands-on mug making workshop! Includes a raffle ticket, $75
- Mug sale: Purchase your new favorite mug made in-house by students, members, and teachers.
- Mug making demo: See how a mug comes to life in the hands of a maker!

Schedule of Events:
12–4 PM — Mug Sale
Browse a wide selection of handmade mugs made by Vallejo Clay students and instructors. From everyday favorites to one-of-a-kind showpieces. Come early for the best picks. Free admission.
1–1:30 PM — Mug Making Demonstration
How is a mug even made? Watch the magic happen as we walk through the process of creating a mug from start to finish. Free admission.
2–3:30 PM — Mug Making Workshop
You can make your own new favorite mug with guidance from our instructors. Grab a friend and let's mug out together!
3:45-4 PM -- Mug Beauty Contest and Raffle!
Check out our Mug Beauty Contest winners and maybe even win a handmade mug of your very own!
More info on Mug Workshop:
Join us in this fun and fast-paced mug making class where you will work with a skilled instructor and make a mug. All tools and clay will be supplied, just be ready to get those hands dirty.
Students will be provided with a pre-rolled clay slab, and will then be led through a step-by-step on how to create a mug using a template. Students will be able to personalize their mug using texture mats, stamps, and get creative with the shape of their mug and handle. Mugs will be fired and glazed by studio staff and will be ready for pickup in about 3-4 weeks.
Don't have any experience with clay? Don't worry! This class is good for beginners and more experienced potters alike.
Open to ages 12 and up. People under 14 need to be enrolled with another enrolled adult.

This is a single date event. You will receive a confirmation email for your purchase but we we are unable to send out reminders before the event. Please mark your calendar when you book this class so you don’t miss it. We cannot offer refunds or rescheduling for last minute cancelations or no shows.
Refund and cancellation policy:
If you are unable to attend class, you can change to another class up to 3 days before class. There are no refunds. You are also welcome to gift your class to another person. Please note you can only change to another class once. There are no refunds or rescheduling for no-shows.
