Join us for a two-day weekend workshop exploring the use of stiff clay slabs and templates to construct vases that you can then hang on a wall after firing This is an exciting method because it allows students to create vases in a variety of fun, unconventional, and expressive shapes.
Day one, students will watch a short demonstration and then work on their own vase.
Day two, students will be introduced to some surface decoration techniques using underglazes. They will then decorate their vase with color and design.
Vases will be fired with a clear glaze and will be ready for pickup within two weeks.
This class is open to beginners and the more advanced student alike. Students must be 16 years and up.
Clay and tools will be provided to all students. Bring an apron and any tools that you like to use.
