This hands-on 4 session course is designed to help intermediate wheel throwers continue to build production skills on the pottery wheel while learning how to make matching and nesting sets of bowls, mugs, and even plates! Emphasis will be on refining throwing technique using less water, practicing more advanced production skills, mastering the tools needed for creating the same size and shape pot, and honing  trimming skills to create pots that look and feel more polished.


Throughout this course, students will be provided expert demonstrations and personalized attention to foster development of more advanced pottery skills.


Please note enrolling students must know how to center clay, raise walls, and create vessels and bowls. 


This class includes clay and access to Open Studio hours for self-guided time on the wheel. Students will need to provide their own tools, apron, and hand towel.


Reccommended basic tools:

5 plastic rib from Mud Tools or similar

Wood tool for trimming wet clay

A throwing sponge

Students will need a couple of different types of tools for trimming. We reccommend:

One or two 8" ribbon tools from the 8R series of Kemper ribbon tools 

At least one heavier trim tool from the FW series of trim tools


Refund and cancellation policy:

This class requires a 7 day notice before class begins for a full refund. No refunds will be given after class begins.For classes with a waitlist, we will refund you up to 24 hours before class if we can fill your spot, but this is not guaranteed.

In this case there will be a 15% cancellation fee to cover our time.
