Intro to Clay Techniques: Coils, pinching, and wheel OH MY is an 8 week class offering students 4 weeks of handbuilding practice with an emphasis on pinch, coil, slab building, and another 4 weeks of introduction to wheel throwing. At any time during the wheel throwing portion students can do more handbuilding work or combine wheel throwing with handbuilding. Students will be able to create functional or sculptural clay creations in this class.
The class comes with a bag of clay and access to all studio equipment and glazes. Additional clay can be purchased at the studio. All firings are included up to 25 pounds, after which there is a firing fee. Students will need to bring their own tools, apron (if desired) and a hand towel. Students will also have access to the studio during Open Studio hours. Please read our general course info for more details.
This class is aimed toward beginners but more advanced students are welcome to enroll.
